After the successful organization of the 1st International Conference on Information Systems Security (ICISS 2005) at Jadavpur University, India, the 2nd conference will be organized by Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India. The proceedings of the first conference has been published as Volume No.3803 in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series of Springer Verlag. The acceptance ratio of the first conference was 25%. 
 

The International Conference on Information Systems Security (ICISS) presents a forum for disseminating the latest research results in information security and related areas. ICISS 2006 is being jointly organized by: Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India, Centre for Distributed Computing, Jadavpur University, India and Centre for Secure Information Systems, George Mason University, USA in association with Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, (D.U.). ICISS 2006 will provide a unique platform for sharing the ideas and work done in the field of information security and related areas. The academicians and researchers along with industry counterparts can exchange the valuable work done in the field of information and systems security. We have deliberately kept the Crypto Theory out of the purview of this conference, because there are conferences dedicated to that theme.
